Holiday Commercial Landscape Lighting

Today we want to cover the use of a typical popular southwestern holiday lighting item, Luminarias.

Christmas in the southwest is a beautiful time. As many areas have mild evening temperatures, outdoor celebrations have become holiday traditions. Lighting the way to a festive time in the southwest are luminarias or farolitos. Simply put, these are candles carefully placed in sand inside a bag, providing a warm glow at night.

The warm flickering light is so inviting and a holiday tradition here in Arizona.  A typical luminaries is done as a candle in a brown paper bag.  While that works in many cases it is not always the best way to do it for a commercial property.

The exposed flame creates a safety hazard in several ways.  A small child could reach out and touch the open flame.  A gust of wind can push the wall of the paper bag into the candle and set the paper bag on fire.

The votive candle that is the light source is quickly consumed and lasts but one evening.  If you have many luminaries lighting the walk ways it is not very cost effective.

Consider electrified luminaries.

What began as a Spanish tradition involving holiday lighting has now become even safer and easier with the addition of electric luminaria or luminaries. Luminaries are a decorating tradition, and now are available in an electrified version for holiday decor.

Electric Christmas Luminaries are gaining popularity and can be used to represent the traditional guiding lights of welcome during the holiday season

Electric luminaries can be used indoors or along a walk or driveway. They are perfect for Christmas decorating to welcome your guests and tenants. Instead of trying to line up the traditional luminaria bag along your walkway, it is easy to lay a 15 or 30 foot length of connected translucent PVC sheaths with 4 watt C7 bulbs for a holographic-look that runs on electricity.

It doesn’t matter to us whether you want lush lawns, desert landscaping or some type of landscaping in between, we can help.  To find out how give us a call at 623-848-8277.
