Tips For Healthy Lawns in Arizona Summers - Sprinklers

One of the best management practices for healthy lawns is to use a sprinkler system to control watering and water use.  We will assume that you already have a properly installed and adusted sprinkler system in use at your commercial location.

Sprinkler Tips

If you are experiencing water run off; Irrigate more often for shorter periods of time.

To help conserve water; Adjust sprinkler heads so they don’t spray walls, driveways or sidewalks.

For a more efficient system; Replace broken and missing sprinklers as soon as they are discovered.

To avoid wasting water; Water shaded areas about 30% less than sunny areas.

If it has rained, reduce irrigations accordingly. The best way to balance water use is with a system that monitors ground moisture as part of the programming.

Note: A typical lawn sprinkler system uses about 10 – 18 gallons per minute per valve or zone. If a lawn has twenty zones and waters for 15 minutes three times per week, the water consumption would range between 45,000 and 75,000 gallons per month.

And remember: Water, Use It Wisely!
