Greens Keeper Is A Dog Gone Good Landscaper

We hope that you have enjoyed the dog photos that have been used with our blog post this week.  The last week in September is “National Dog Week.”

Now that we are past the dog days of summer we want you to know that we don't charge anything for the installation of winter lawns. This means you do not pay anything for scalping and removal of summer lawn, sprinkler tune up, and top dressing where needed. And the seed is provided at the market price. Lawn fertilizer is done quarterly for the price of fertilizer only.

We also offer a full range of tree trimming options for our customers including emergency storm damage clean up and tree removal. So even when it is raining cats and dogs you can count on us.

We will strive to keep your landscape safe, clean and beautiful. At the same time keeping your costs as low as possible. We provide high quality service and pride ourselves on our open communication practices.  We can even do a dog and pony show to let you know about our services.

Unlike other companies we don't mark-up inventory, whenever possible. Another one of our popular services is safety and visibility trimming at no extra charge. This means that if you have things we think could be a liability on your property related to the landscape, we will communicate with you and work together to resolve these issues before they cause an accident or damage vehicles or buildings. If there is vegetation blocking the view of signs or safe passage in and out of the parking lot, trees blocking safety lighting, we will keep those items at their smallest manageable size (no charge).

So that we can stay out of the dog house we meet or exceed the highest insurance standards, with $2,000,000 business liability, $1,000,000 commercial auto, and $1,000,000 workman's comp. And we can list you (the customer) as additional insured at no extra charge.

We don’t want you to be dog tired of our invoices so we keep our hourly rate is $26 per hour. Our special project rate, including sprinkler repairs, is $30. Our convenient payment terms of 2/10 net 30.

All of our vehicles are clearly marked and all of our employees are in uniform for easy identification. Many of the small unexpected things that other companies charge for, we include.

If there are minor sprinkler repairs that are needed, most of them are also included (no charge). We accomplish this by providing an allowance for sprinkler heads, drip emitters, shrub heads, and repairs to lateral lines and drip lines. The only sprinkler issues that we would have to charge for would be main line repairs, valves & timers. And we always get these pre approved by our customers.

Don’t let your property go to the dogs.

We can help your commercial landscaping be dog gone good!  Please contact us at; Sales: 623-848-8277 We serve the entire Phoenix Metro Area.

Dogs Can’t Read Signs

One thing is for sure. People love their pets.  Many apartments have relaxed or expanded their rules as it relates to people and pets.  Even with large “Pet Deposits” people want to bring their pets to live with them.

If you are a commercial property owner or manager you know that a big down side with pets is there natural eliminations can lead to damage and incontinences for other tenants.

None of us wants to find unexpected surprises when we run across the grass.  So what can you do as a manager of the property.

You can start with rules that can contain where the problems will be     or that the owner or person walking the animal needs to police their own deposits.  But ongoing education works better that just having rules.

The education needs to go beyond just signs.  While the signs can show the open area that is set aside or list the “pick-up” rules.  But you can hold meetings that are mandatory for your pet owners.

Flyers with an educational message about what is best for the animal and the neighbors will do more than just rules, rules and more rules.  Many times it is a lack of time or just plain old poor planning that leads to a shortcut that violates the rules.  These “violations” can be costly for the property.

Having a pet area can be likened to make an area for smokers to accommodate their needs.  The real world relationship is that there are more pet owners in the population than there are smokers.  The trend is fewer smokers and more pet owners.  Pet ownership is shown to be a health benefit and you can’t say the same for smoking.

Most pet owners are very responsible people.  And like their dogs even less than perfect owners can be retrained if you have the right educational programs.

It doesn’t matter to us whether you want lush lawns, desert landscaping or some type of landscaping in between, we can help.  To find out how give us a call at 623-848-8277.

Don’t Bury Your Head In The Sand!

Many of us try to avoid problems by ignoring them, hoping they will go away on their own.  It is a very common trait we seem to learn during childhood and we tend to try, at least, that same tactic during adulthood.

Yes, even commercial property owners and mangers can fall into that category as well.  Many times they have been known to treat landscaping problems (we could call them challenges) with that tactic as well.

Truth be told it is generally better and cheaper to address problems (all types not just landscaping) as soon as possible.  You can think along the lines of “fix it and forget it” as being a good rule of thumb.

Sidestepping problems and letting them dwell for way too long instead of confronting them head on is a difficult way to live life.

While sometimes you get lucky and the problem works its way out, this is a bad way to handle things, as some problems linger for months and months.  Some things are complicated and will require a lot of work and even some pain to get past, but the alternative (wasting months of your life) is more costly in its own way.

When you ignore such problems, this is how a problem that starts out as a molehill turns into a nightmarish, “hard to manage” mountain, not to mention the side stress of carrying such problems with you.

The real trouble with landscaping is your dealing with living things and they tend to either grow and the problems gets bigger (literally) or in some cases they die out and the eyesore gets even bigger.

Confront and fix your problems, don’t let them ruin the look and marketability of your commercial property.  Better yet, let Greens Keeper Landscape Maintenance deal with your landscaping challenges for you.

It doesn’t matter to us whether you want lush lawns, desert landscaping or some type of landscaping in between, we can help.  To find out how give us a call at 623-848-8277.

At Greens Keeper Landscaping We Listen!

I know, you have heard that one before.  At Greens Keeper Landscaping there is a big difference.   We really do listen, we listen to our customers and potential customers.

We have learned that being a good listener and then following up on that information is really the way, perhaps the only way, to achieve happy customers.  The amazing thing about happy customers is that they tend to bring you even more customers.

We listen to what our customers want and need.  Over the years we have learned to both listen and know what are the right questions to ask.  Knowing the right questions to ask leads to the right answers.  Having the right answers leads to doing a great job for our customers.  We always try to ask open-ended questions that encourage a true dialogue, rather than one-word answers.

Are we bragging? Yes, I guess we are.  Our results are more than just bragging.  Our results, making your commercial property look great are rewards all their own.  When your property shines, then we can bask in your light.

Businesses should never forget to listen to their customers. In fact, really listening to customers happens so rarely these days that we found a big competitive edge just by doing it.  We listen at the office and we listen out in the field.

As good listeners we try to respond to broad comments with questions that get to the heart of the problem.  We don't rely on just preprinted customer feedback forms, or a fixed set of questions. All our staff tries to think on their feet and go where the discussion leads, rather than stick to a script.

If you feel this is the way business should be done then give Greens Keeper Landscape Maintenance at shot at listening to your landscaping needs.

It doesn’t matter to us whether you want lush lawns, desert landscaping or some type of landscaping in between, we can help.  To find out how give us a call at 623-848-8277.

Do You Have A Fall Clean-up Planned

Some people only think of “Spring Clean Up” but, for sure many people feel that the “Fall Clean-up” is just as important or even more important to get ready for three big holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

When does clutter become junk? Junk is not another man’s treasure, sometimes it is just plain-old, ordinary, everyday junk.

We aren’t sure how it happens.  Slowly but surely “junk” just seems to accumulate.  One theory is that “junk” results from the missing socks from wash machines all over and must somehow turn into the junk that accumulates in nooks and crannies everywhere.  I’m not sure that there is a sound scientific theory to support that but it does brighten my day.

At Greens Keeper Landscape Maintenance we are ready to help haul away all the blight that is cluttering your property.

While Junk Removal can be related to storm damage, it can also be just what you need removed from your property, commercial or otherwise.

If you have anything on your property that needs removal please take the time to give us a call at 623-848-8277 so we can help.

We look forward to helping you make your property more beautiful and valuable by clearing away any Junk.  No job is too little or too big.  We remove your junk one item at a time until it is all gone.  We will remove your headaches from commercial property, rentals, homes, garages, estates or storage facilities.

No time; we can help.  Job too big for you; we can help.  Gives us a quick call at 623-848-8277 so we can solve your problems.

City of Phoenix Outdoor Landscape Plans

Do you have a commercial landscape property in the City of Phoenix Arizona?  Do you know all the city guidelines that apply to your property?  A trip to their web site has the following information.

Group plants with similar watering requirements
Creating a landscape with water conservation in mind will not only help you save water but will also send out a positive message about your business to customers and clients.

There are additional benefits to making water conservation a central part of your landscape design. A well designed and maintained landscape not only looks good, but can create shade and lower your power bills by reducing heat load on surrounding buildings. Effective use of native plants can reduce the labor required to maintain a landscape. You can put your landscape to use as water collector, directing rainwater to where it is needed.

If you plan to make changes to your landscaping, hire a landscape professional with experience in water conservation issues. Create an environment that stands out and says something about your business.

Harvesting Rainwater
Rainwater harvesting is a practical form of irrigation for a wide range of landscapes both large and small. It works best with native plants. A simple system of berms (mounds) and swales (ditches) in combination with the right plants can reduce or even eliminate the need for watering with metered, potable water.

Equally effective is letting runoff from roofs accumulate in storage tanks. Businesses with extensive roof areas may be able to meet a large share of their irrigation needs with effective runoff systems. As well as reducing metered use and the associated costs, harvesting rainwater reduces off-site flooding and erosion by keeping the water on-site. Most of all, rainwater is free!

Hydrozoning
The principle behind hydrozoning is simple: group plants with similar water requirements together to eliminate unnecessary watering. Plant the hardiest, most heat-tolerant plants in the areas next to sidewalks (which are generally hotter) or with most direct sunlight. Always install designated grass-only sprinkler zones.

Water features
If you are planning to put in an outdoor water feature like a fountain, stream or mister, think carefully about when and how it will be used. In addition to planning ahead for the future operation and maintenance of the feature, you should have a plan for times of restricted use.

Rather than having to worry about the landscaping on your commercial property you can let Greens Keeper Landscape Maintenance do all the work for you and take the burden off your shoulders all together.  Give us a call at 623-848-8277 and let’s talk about it.
